I love music. I breathe it. Without it, life is mute. Its a universal truth. A language spoken and understood by all mankind. I once had a deaf man ask me what music is. Just my luck. The memory is a nightmare that never leaves my mind. I wrote for him to simply watch a musician who sings at the same time as he plays. That he won’t be able to look into his eyes because they’ll be closed as he performs stuck in his own world and that instead he should pay attention to the muscles of his arms and face. The area around his eyes and mouth. His cheek bones. And the sweat that drips off the man’s brow and forehead. As he pours out his heart, passion, and strength all at the same time to create what dictionaries cannot provide as a definition of music. Then I told him to just fuck off and thanked him for permanently ruining my own perception of music by adding a pity for those who can’t hear it. At this point of my life I would have been spared all that trouble by simply taking the man to the place where music is tangible. This is where I say thank you to my drummer&co. Guys, thank you.
